As we approach
2030, it’s expected that around
30 percent of the hours currently worked across the US economy will be automated due to advancements in Generative AI.
1 However, there's a silver lining here: while some jobs may vanish, many others are being created, especially within STEM, creative, legal, and management roles. The shift toward Generative AI technologies not only replaces jobs but enhances them, needing skilled personnel who can integrate these tools effectively into their workflows.
Research estimates that
an additional 12 million occupational transitions may be necessary by
2030 as people leave shrinking sectors for newer, often higher-paying job opportunities.
1 Those in lower-wage occupations are
14 times more likely to change jobs compared to their counterparts in higher-wage categories. Interestingly, women are projected to transition into new jobs at a rate
1.5 times that of men.
