You Can Totally Use Claude on Your Phone to Run Your Life (or at Least Your To-Do List)
Hey everyone, hope you're doing awesome. So, let's talk about something that's been on my mind a lot lately: using AI, specifically Claude, to actually get stuff done, not just play around with prompts. I'm talking about using it on your phone, on the go, to monitor & manage all the tasks that make up our crazy lives.
Turns out, it's not some far-off futuristic idea. You can do it right now, & it's pretty powerful once you get the hang of it. It's not about some magical, non-existent "Claude Code" app, but more about being smart with the tools we already have. Honestly, it's about making Claude your personal assistant that lives in your pocket.
I’ve been diving deep into this, & I've found some genuinely cool ways to make it work. We're going to cover everything from the super simple stuff you can do in the official app to some more advanced tricks that will make you feel like a productivity wizard.
First Things First: The Claude App is Your New Best Friend
Okay, so the most straightforward way to get started is by grabbing the official Claude app for your iPhone or Android. If you've only ever used Claude on your desktop, you're in for a treat. The mobile experience is slick & lets you do most of the same things.
This is your base of operations. At its simplest, you can just treat Claude as a brainstorming partner for your tasks. Stuck on a big project? Just open the app & start chatting.
For example, you can literally just type:
"Hey Claude, I have this huge project at work to launch a new marketing campaign. Can you help me break it down into smaller, manageable tasks?"
Claude will spit back a pretty decent list of things you need to do. You can then copy-paste this into your favorite notes app or to-do list app. Simple, effective, & takes about 30 seconds.
But we can go way deeper than that.
Level Up: Using Claude's "Projects" Feature for Ongoing Task Management
This is where things get REALLY interesting. Anthropic has a feature in their paid plans called "Projects," & it's a game-changer for task management. Think of a Project as a dedicated workspace for a specific goal. It's like creating a custom chatbot that only knows about your project.
Here’s how you could use it to manage a complex task, say, planning a family vacation:
Create a New Project: In the Claude app or website, start a new Project & name it something like "Family Trip to Italy."
Upload Your Brain: This is the magic part. You can upload documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, even images. So, you'd upload your flight confirmations, hotel bookings, a list of cities you want to visit, maybe even a travel blog's PDF guide to Italy.
Give It Instructions: You'll give Claude a set of instructions on how to behave within this project. For example: "You are my travel planning assistant for a trip to Italy. Your goal is to help me organize all the details, create an itinerary, & make sure I don't miss anything. Always refer to the documents I've uploaded for specific details."
Now, whenever you open this "Family Trip to Italy" project on your phone, Claude is primed & ready. You can ask it things like:
"What are the check-in times for our hotels in Rome & Florence?" (It will check the booking docs you uploaded).
"Based on our list of desired cities, can you create a logical 10-day itinerary?"
"Can you list all the tasks I still need to do, like book train tickets or buy museum passes?"
You're no longer just getting generic AI answers; you're getting insights based on your specific data. It's like having a project manager who has memorized every single detail.
For businesses, this is HUGE. Imagine a project for a website redesign. You could upload the design mockups, the project proposal, all the client emails, & a spreadsheet of tasks. Your team could then query this project to get instant, context-aware answers.
This is actually where a tool like Arsturn comes into the picture for businesses looking to scale this kind of interaction. While Claude Projects are great for internal team management, you can use Arsturn to build a similar, customer-facing AI chatbot for your website. You train it on your business data—your product docs, your FAQs, your knowledge base—& it can then have intelligent, helpful conversations with your website visitors 24/7. It's about providing that same level of personalized, instant support to your customers that you're giving yourself with a Claude Project.
The Holy Grail: Integrating Claude with Your To-Do List App
Okay, now for the part that made me feel like I had superpowers. You can actually connect Claude to your task management app, like Todoist. This creates a dynamic system where Claude can not only help you plan your tasks but also track & update them.
Here's the thing: this requires a little bit of technical know-how, specifically using something called an API. An API is basically a way for two different apps to talk to each other. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds, & there are tons of guides out there to walk you through it.
One user, Leon Furze, detailed an amazing workflow for connecting Claude to Todoist, & it's pure genius. Here's a simplified version of how it works:
Get Your Todoist API Token: In your Todoist settings, you can find a unique API token. This is like a secret password that lets other apps access your Todoist account.
Create a Claude Project for Your Tasks: Just like before, you'll create a dedicated Project in Claude. Let's call it "My Life Dashboard."
Teach Claude to Talk to Todoist: This is the core step. You'll need to give Claude some code (don't worry, you can often find pre-written scripts for this) that tells it how to use the Todoist API. You'll paste in your API token here. Your instructions to Claude might look something like this:
"You are my task management assistant. You will use the provided Python script & my Todoist API token to interact with my tasks. You can add new tasks, list existing tasks, & mark tasks as complete."
Once this is set up, you can have conversations with Claude on your phone that directly manipulate your to-do list.
Imagine these scenarios:
You’re walking down the street & remember something. You pull out your phone, open the Claude app, & say: "Add a task to buy milk, priority one, due tomorrow at 9 am." Boom. It appears in your Todoist.
You're feeling overwhelmed & don't know where to start. You ask: "What are my priority one tasks for today?" Claude will check your Todoist & list them out for you.
You just finished something. You tell Claude: "Mark the task 'finish the report' as complete." Done.
This turns Claude from a passive information source into an active participant in your productivity system. It's pretty incredible.
Building a Task App From Scratch with Claude's Help
Now, for the really adventurous among us, you can even use Claude to help you build your very own, custom task management app from the ground up. There are tutorials showing how you can literally have a conversation with Claude to generate the front-end code for a simple task app.
You would start with a prompt like:
"Create the HTML, CSS, & JavaScript for a simple task management application. It should have an input field to add a new task, a button to add it, & a list where the tasks appear. I also want to be able to check tasks off to mark them as complete."
Claude will generate the code, which you can then refine through conversation. "Make the background dark grey." "Add a cool animation when a task is completed." "Can we categorize tasks into 'Work' & 'Personal'?"
While this might seem like overkill, it's an amazing way to create a tool that is PERFECTLY tailored to your workflow. & the best part is, you don't even need to be a pro coder to get started. Claude does the heavy lifting.
This approach is fantastic for personal projects, but for a business that needs a robust, scalable solution for customer interaction, building from scratch isn't always practical. That's the beauty of no-code platforms. For instance, a business wanting to generate more leads could use Arsturn to build a no-code AI chatbot. Instead of writing code, you just provide your business data, & Arsturn helps you create a personalized chatbot that can engage potential customers, answer their questions in real-time, & guide them through your sales funnel, boosting conversions without you having to write a single line of code.
Practical Tips for Making This a Daily Habit
Look, all these ideas are great, but they're useless if you don't actually use them. Here’s how to make Claude a real part of your daily task management on your phone:
Use Your Phone's "Share" Function: If you find a useful article or get an email with a list of action items, use your phone's share sheet to send it directly to the Claude app. Then, you can ask Claude to summarize it or extract the key tasks.
Voice-to-Text is Your Friend: Don't feel like typing out a long command? Use your phone's built-in voice-to-text to talk to Claude. It makes adding tasks on the go feel much more natural.
Set Up a "Daily Briefing" Prompt: In your task management Project, you can create a prompt you use every morning, like: "Good morning! Please give me a summary of my priority tasks for today, check my calendar for any potential conflicts, & give me one motivational quote to get started."
Don't Be Afraid to Experiment: The beauty of AI is its flexibility. Try different prompts & workflows. Maybe you find that Claude is great for breaking down big projects but you prefer to check off tasks manually. That's fine! Find the system that works for you.
The Bigger Picture: AI as a Genuine Assistant
What we're talking about here is a shift in how we view AI. It's not just a fancy search engine or a tool for writing emails. It's becoming a true assistant that can understand context, interact with other tools, & help us manage the complexities of our daily lives. By using Claude on our phones, we're putting that power right in our pockets, ready to be used whenever & wherever we need it.
Whether you're just using the basic app to brainstorm, leveraging the Projects feature to manage a complex hobby, or going all-in & integrating it with your to-do list, there's a level for everyone. The key is to start small, find a workflow that solves a real problem for you, & build from there.
So yeah, give it a shot. It might just change the way you get things done.
Hope this was helpful! Let me know what you think, or if you have any other cool ways you're using Claude to manage your tasks.
